Scott’s career is defined by its versatility and depth. Before stepping into leadership and founding Durango Gardens, he spent over a decade navigating the most demanding environments in nursing. His background includes:

Hospice & Palliative Advocacy: A cornerstone of Scott’s career, his extensive work in hospice has given him a profound understanding of end-of-life care. He specializes in symptom management, family counseling, and ensuring that every resident maintains their dignity and comfort. To Scott, hospice isn’t just a service; it’s a commitment to being a steady hand for families during their most difficult transitions.

Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC): Working within LTAC hospitals, Scott managed complex medical needs for patients requiring extended recovery periods. This experience provided him with a high-level clinical perspective on ventilator weaning, wound care, and multi-organ support—expertise he now uses to oversee the safety and medical integrity of his own community.

Assisted Living & LTC Leadership: Having served as an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) and Medication Room Supervisor, Scott understands the operational “gears” of senior living. He bridges the gap between the rigid requirements of state compliance and the personalized needs of long-term care residents.
